Matt is originally from Katy, TX and currently resides in Nashville, TN. While pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Trombone Performance at Vanderbilt University, Matt studied primarily with Jeremy Wilson. Highlights from his time at Vanderbilt include featured solo and trombone quartet performances in the Blair School of Music’s student showcase and chamber showcase concerts. In addition to performing with the Blair Trombone Quartet and serving as principal in both the Vanderbilt Wind Symphony and Orchestra, he has performed with the Nashville Symphony, Huntsville Symphony, the Chattanooga Bach Choir, and the Southern Star Symphonic Brass Band. Matt is also a member of the Nashville Music Scoring orchestra at Ocean Way Studios, where he has recorded various video game soundtracks.
In the summer of 2016, Matt studied at Brevard Music Center, and was a finalist in their Concerto Competition. In the summer of 2017, he attended the Aspen Music Festival and School as a fellowship recipient. This October, he will travel to Nanjing, China to perform with the Nashville Scoring Orchestra at the Nanjing Forest Music Festival.
